| This is Menorca's third largest town and has been populated from
prehistoric times. Today it is famous for being the cheese capital of
Menorca, which is available for sale in all its forms at the Coinga shop.
Alaior itself is a pleasant Menorcan town, with narrow streets and
whitewashed buildings. During the summer, music and dancing is hosted in
the courtyard of an old convent, now known as Sa Lluna. If you
are nearby, Alaior also holds its annual fiesta in honour of St Lawrence
on the 1st weekend after the 10th August. Visitors are welcome.
